AASSA Conference

Our school has been hosting this years AASSA conference this week. AASSA stands for the Association of American Schools in South America. I have been attending many informational sessions and have acquired some new strategies and tools to use in my classroom. Last night, the school hosted a night of Colombian music and dance featuring some of our students and staff. Five of my students participated in the event ant they were outstanding. I really enjoy watching my students participate in activities outside my classroom. To Cristina, Ivanna, Michelle, Estefania, and Pamela, congratulation ladies, you were awesome.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to the Math Corner. This blog was created as a means of discussing what is happening in my 8th grade IMP I math classroom. I will use it to highlight events, activities, student accomplishments, and a multitude of other things.

Math Carnival

On March 11, 2009 my 8th grade math students put on a math carnival at school. The students created games based on probability and strategy, and then the 6th and 7th graders came and played the games. The students did a great job and everyone had a fun-filled time.
